NDIS PACE: The New System Changing How Your Plan Works

If you have had a plan review or accessed the NDIS recently, you may have noticed things look a little different. That is because the NDIA has rolled out a new system called PACE — the Provider and Participant Communication Environment. Here is everything you need to know.

What Is PACE?

PACE is the NDIS’s new digital platform, replacing the old MyPlace portal. It was first trialled in Tasmania in late 2022 and rolled out nationally from October 2023. By 2025, all new and renewed NDIS plans are managed through PACE. The system is designed to be more user-friendly for participants and providers, improve information sharing, reduce errors, and make claiming faster and more transparent.

What’s New for Participants?

If your plan has moved to PACE, you will have access to a new portal called ‘my NDIS’, which is available through the app or via myGov. Through this portal you can:

  • View your total plan budget and how it is being used
  • See all claims made against your plan in real time
  • Manage and update your provider relationships
  • Receive messages and correspondence from the NDIA

One important change is that funding is now linked to specific goals in your plan, making it clearer how your supports connect to what you are working towards.

What Changed for Providers?

Providers now use the ‘My NDIS Provider Portal’ instead of MyPlace. The old service booking process has been removed. Instead, participants nominate their providers (known as ‘My Providers’), and endorsed providers can then make claims against the participant’s plan. Support coordinators and psychosocial recovery coaches — including those who are not registered with the NDIS Commission — now need a PRODA account to access the new portal and receive requests for service.

New Funding Release Options

As of mid-2025, PACE also introduced quarterly, monthly, and up-front funding release options. This came in response to feedback from participants who found it difficult to manage a lump sum released at the start of their plan. You can discuss the best option for your circumstances at your next plan review.
